Infants
At Sprouting Minds Child Development Center near Diamond Head, Omaha, we offer three infant rooms tailored to your child’s developmental needs.
The Infant 1 Classroom caters to infants from 6 weeks old to the crawling stage, providing a nurturing environment with a 1:4 teacher-to-child ratio. Infants are engaged through holding, singing, reading, and playing. Daily communication keeps parents updated on their child’s progress.
The Infant 2 Classroom is for infants who are crawling and just starting to walk, filled with stimulating toys and the introduction to table foods upon parental approval. The teacher-to-child ratio remains 1:4, ensuring individual attention for each child.
For independently walking children, the Infant 3 Classroom allows plenty of room for movement and exploration. Activities include story time, art, songs, sensory play, and sign language, maintaining a 1:4 teacher-to-child ratio.

Toddlers
At our Diamond Head, Omaha, child development center, toddlers are divided into two groups.
The Toddler 1 Classroom, for ages 18 months to 2 ½ years, has a 1:6 teacher-to-child ratio. Children learn letters, colors, shapes, and counting through engaging activities like songs, stories, and art. Vocabulary expansion and social skills, including taking turns and sharing, are emphasized. Potty training can begin when you and your child are ready.
The Toddler 2 Classroom, for ages 2 ½ to 3 years, also maintains a 1:6 teacher-to-child ratio. This room focuses on more advanced recognition of letters, numbers, colors, and shapes. Children enjoy hands-on art projects and small-group activities, learning classroom boundaries and responsibility.
Transitions between Toddler 1, Toddler 2, preschool, and pre-K are based on developmental readiness and typically include one year each in preschool and pre-K.
Our classroom for preschoolers serves children aged 3 to 4 ½ years, with a 1:10 teacher-to-child ratio. It offers structured learning through group activities, art, games, experiments, play, and reading.
The Pre-K Classroom, for ages 4 ½ to 5 ½ years, prepares children for kindergarten with a 1:12 teacher-to-child ratio. The curriculum, designed by a retired elementary teacher, covers academics, independence, and social skills. Weekly themes enhance learning, and both preschool and pre-K feature learning centers for reading, math, science, art, blocks, sensory activities, and dramatic play. Field trips are also included.
